It sounded odd to me that a girl wouldn't be checked down there.

Dd's dr takes off one side of the diaper then back on real quick look no touching. Then she has the rotaion of hips check and the diaper is loose for that again not touching or open girley bits. Then the tummy check same as hip check.

Both DD's same type of exam two different drs. Diaper is on for all of it even for weight they request it be dry for it. This last time they had her stand for her weight. And she is 17m.

My Ped. does the exact same exam for both DS and DD. The diaper comes off, he takes a quick look at the genitals, flips them over and checks the bum etc. Nothing invasive but he is thorough and it is very quick. As far as the well-baby visits they have been exactly the same for both of them.

That was me that posted that and honestly, I genuinely don't remember exams happening sans diaper. Now, they do require the weight check be in a freshly changed dipe, so I dunno, maybe he did his quick peek when changing her. He would do the tummy check and check hip rotation like everyone else mentioned, but really, I don't recall any checks without the dipe.

Yes, they do check the girls also. It is just a quick peek to make sure everything is ok.

Can I ask a related question? When do the exams stop for under the diaper/undies or do they? At my 9yo well child visit this year (and the last two) he refused an exam.

I think DD1 was 2. It was after she PL'ed. I don't recall well though, that was 10y ago.
