Diaper Swappers

I bought a Medela Swing back in June 2007. I used it for about six months then put it in storage. I started using it again in January. Well last night it had very low suction and was making a rattling noise. This morning it was doing the same thing. I usually am able to get 4 ounces out of each breast in the mornings.This morning it was only two. The suction is horrible. Does anyone know what is wrong? Should I just consider it gone and get a new pump? If so what do you mamas recommend?

Have you changed the membranes? (Those little white flaps) that might make a difference if they are worn out. Are you running it on battery? I found the swing to have horrible suction on battery, i always had to plug it in.

I used my Medela with DD in 2008 for 6ish months. I took it back out to use after DS was born and it work for a month then died. I was not getting the same amount pumping with the PIS as i was with my new manual pump, even though the PIS parts were never used before then. I heard from my LC friend that Medela's are made to have a 300 hr life expediency. I totally believe it. I also found tons if mold growing behind the motor cover. Gross!!
I switched to an Ameda and have seen a .5/1 oz increase on both sides.

My phone thinks it smarter than me. Please pardon any mistakes.
