Any interest in Onbuhimos?
I see Mei Tais everywhere but nobody seems to make Onbuhimos. I made one for myself out of low stretch athletic mesh so I could wear it in the water (just like that ring sling made out of mesh you can get on etsy), and I am also going to make one out of double layer muslin so I can wear it without getting too hot this summer/fall. Is there any interest in Onbuhimos at all anymore, or is it all about Mai Tais? Any interest in alternative fabrics like athletic mesh/muslin?

Re: Any interest in Onbuhimos?
I'll take a pic of mine later and post it, but here's a link to one for now http://sewing.craftgossip.com/tutori...er/2010/04/30/ . It's basically just like a Mei Tai, but the bottom straps are replaced with 2 rings (one on each side of the body) that you thread the top straps thru. I get cross-eyed staring at all the straps so an onbu works much better for me.

Re: Any interest in Onbuhimos?
Here is a pic of the one I made. Lighting and picture aren't high quality enough to show that it's made with light blue small hole athletic mesh from here http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail....5-9d347ce7e399

Re: Any interest in Onbuhimos?
I perhaps am interested. I love podaegi's so this might work for me as long as they are made like your picture where there is webbing(?) underneath the ring so it doesn't get diggy. Are you ISO of testers or just seeing if there is interest?

Re: Any interest in Onbuhimos?
Just trying to see if there is interest for now. I did ask to join the WAHM group so if there is interest then I can ask for testers over in the proper forum. I extended the bottom band out far enough so even when the rings are pulled tight there is still a double layer of mesh underneath it. I've got a bit of padding and don't want the rings digging in to me either. The piece holding the rings on has a layer if canvas underneath for additional strength. The rest of the onbu is just athletic mesh.
Any suggestions?

Re: Any interest in Onbuhimos?
I have a Mei Tai, but I think this looks like a great option! I love the idea of only two long straps and only having to tie one knot. Is it as versatile as a MT?
I think a great place to ask about this would be the babywearing forum!
