Diaper Swappers

My mom bought my DD a shirt off a FB page and sent paypal on May 4th, we have yet to receive the shirt or DC.

The shirt isn't anything complicated and while we weren't give an exact date we would receive it, the seller said it wouldn't take long and would be mailed out soon.

My mom contacted her last week and she was told the diaper shipped on Friday, so I've looked in the mail all week and nothing. (The seller is in the same state so it shouldn't take but a day or two to get here) My mom contacted her again today and her response was "sorry, my husband just now shipped it today"

I told my mom she should ask for a refund of some sort but my mom said she feels bad doing that since there was no "set date" we would receive the shirt.

Since it's FB she can't really leave negative feedback other than writing on her wall and I don't think she would do that, is asking for a refund for shipping or any kind of refund appropriate?

I would file with PayPal. You're getting close to 30 days and still have no DC. If indeed she shipped, you can close when you receive it. DO NOT close until you have items in hand. You cannot reopen a claim.

She should be giving you a DC #and if she isn't that is bad in her. I would tell your mom to open a dispute since she hadn't been honest with you at all about what is going on.

Did she order a shirt or a diaper? Not that it matters, file with PayPal as other have said.

It was a shirt. Just a basic Tshirt with a mickey mouse appliqué and her name beneath it.

It could be a scammer just trying to drag it out until your mom can no longer file a paypal dispute. Or she could be telling the truth. I'd file a dispute and be on the safe side. Like pp said, you can always cancel it if the shirt shows up.

i would file too, its been nearly a month with no DC, your mom can drop once her item arrives

be sure you do NOT tell Paypal that it was purchased through Facebook...they do not consider that a valid selling platform and will immediately close the claim

Well that's just brilliant. DH is having the same problem- bought a band t-shirt from the band's Facebook page and it still hasn't shipped over a month later... What do you tell PayPal then when they ask for details? And why don't they consider Facebook as a valid place to buy & sell? TONS of people do it every day- The New & Used Gymboree Consignment page just for starters...
