Disana wool soaker is huge!!! :( What can I do!?
I splurged a litte and bout a beautiful light blue disana wool pull on from GMD. I bought the size large after looking through all the pics on the website and size suggestions. My guy is 24lbs and 29inches-the cover is huge! I have washed and lanolnized it twie thinking I hadn't done it right the first time because it was so big! It sags so bad I have to pull it up a million times while he is wearing it. Is there something I can do or should I just suck it up and get a size med? The only reason I hesitate to order a med is because of their shipping! Sure its great if you have a big order, but when ordering 1 thing it stinks. Especially since their disana wool pull ons are the most expensive, but they are the only ones that have light blue! Please help!

You can shrink it pretty easily in the dryer, just do it on low heat for short periods of time until you get the fit that you want. Are you sure you have the right size though? My 19lb guy is in a large (86/92 12-24 months, right?) and it fits him great.

Re: Disana wool soaker is huge!!! :( What can I do!?
Most people felt their covers a bit which shrinks them in size and makes them more effective covers. I let mine felt naturally and just had big covers for a while. If you prefer to felt it so it fits berre better now wash youir cover again then roll in a towel to remove as much moisture as yoiu can. Then put it in the dryer. Check on it after 5 minutes. If it isn't small enough let it go another 5 minutes. Check again. It should be ready (you might want to try it on at this point to make sure.)if it is still too big go another 5 minutes.

Re: Disana wool soaker is huge!!! :( What can I do!?
My little guy is 24lbs and 29" also He fits nicely in the 2-3year size after some natural felting. He can also fit in the one size smaller(86/92). The rise just isn't quite as high and he has a bit less time to go with the leg holes. They are a bit snug in the smaller size but not too snug to still be able to wear both sizes. But then since he is slimming down he may fit them both for a long time to come.

Re: Disana wool soaker is huge!!! :( What can I do!?
I've had so, so many Disana covers and I find that with normal wear they felt up pretty quickly (all over, not talking about just crotch felting). For that reason, I would never intentionally felt one, even though I buy them big. I'd be afraid that drying one and then the additional felting from being worn, it would end up too felted, or at least with inadequate growing room. I wonder if that's what GMD means when they gave their own height/weight recommendations. Anyways, I've always gone by GMD's recs and they've always ended up perfect after a bit of wear.

Re: Disana wool soaker is huge!!! :( What can I do!?
We have a size large and on my 20 pounder it's fine. It is a little looser than I'd like it to be but I like that there's a lot of growing room. We change her often so it doesn't get saggy.

Re: Disana wool soaker is huge!!! :( What can I do!?
My 23ish lbs 2 year old wears the 2/3 size. We did felt both soakers intentionally - they are the perfect size.
Love these soakers. If I don't felt it she fits nicely into a size medium - but I prefer the get the bulletproofness right away. I definitely suggest felting it. I set my timer on my dryer for like 10 minutes on a low/medium heat and checked it. I'll back up: First I hand washed it in the sink with baby shampoo and rinsed. Then I did the dryer thing until it was dryish (it took longer than 10 minutes) Then I rewashed with lanolin soap and hung to dry (I kinda stretched the leg holes out while it was wet) I've done this to like 4 or 5 soakers and I haven't wrecked anything so I think it is fairly safe. LOL HTH
