Nursing necklace question

What are these for? Is something for the baby to focus on visually when nursing? Are these best for babies of a certain age?

Dumb questions but I've always wanted to ask.

Re: Nursing necklace question

In theory it is for baby to focus on and look at and not get distracted by the world while nursing. Also for baby to fiddle with the beads and the necklace and not fiddle with the other boob or pinch you. I say in theory because my ds never took to it.

I am sure they work, just not for us.

Re: Nursing necklace question

My customers usually buy them once baby starts to explore, like the PP stated.

The bright colors also help stimulate babies brain etc.

But I think the main focus is that the baby stops pinching your boobs

ETA. Im no longer nursing but I still wear one when I go shopping or to the docs to give DS something to do while Im carrying him. In hopes he stops pulling my hair and face.

Re: Nursing necklace question

My DH got me one when Liam started pulling at anything he could while nursing. He LOVES THEM!!!! I thought they were a waste at first, but Liam loves them and it gives me a break from being pulled during nursing. I'd recommend them to anyone who is dealing with that too.
