Is there a different OB I'm your area willing to work with this dr?

I'm not sure why the RMcD won't take you. The one in Philly has tons of pregnant women carrying babies with all kinds of conditions who will deliver at CHOP.

I second the staying in NJ and commuting to NY.

Also churches have funds specifically for emergent things like this. I'd call the ones in your area and see if any are willing to help or at least put your story in their bulletins to get the word out that you need prayer and help.

Re: One in a million is not always a good thing

Just wanted to do a quick update while I can't sleep tonight. We have booked the $100/ night room through the hospital for the first few nights. Just decided it was easier to get there and than try to work the rest out once we talk to the doctors and have a better game plan.

As for another Dr the only place around here the is equipped to handle such a high risk case is U of M and they are a no go. They did do another check up on Monday and were able to see that she has not gotten any worse over the past two weeks. That is HUGE and hopefully if that continues she wont be in that bad of a condition. Right now we are just taking some relief knowing she is not progressing in her heart or brain issues even without any treatment.

I am so very sorry. I wish I could say or do something that would help. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Re: One in a million is not always a good thing

for you and your family, Mama.
For what it's worth, good friends of ours were told that their son would not live to term, and if he did, he'd likely die shortly after birth. (He had a severe bladder deformity that was putting pressure on his heart, lungs, kidneys, and other internal organs.) He just celebrated his first birthday a couple of months ago. He's got some challenges in his life, to be sure, but he has a beautiful smile and a super easy-going, cheerful nature. Everyone who knows him, loves him.
Hoping and praying that things will be better than expected for you.
