Positive reinforcements/ programs

I am interested in what has worked for you guys that is simple, easy to stick with and is encouraging. I can become quite cranky when I expect things done, and I am looking for something to implement that is easy and works and helps to avoid conflict Thanks!

Re: Positive reinforcements/ programs

What exactly are you looking to reinforce and for what aged kids?

I only have a little one right now, but when I was a kid my mom did huge pictures ripped out of coloring books and they were slowly colored in until I earned something. It was visual so it worked well. There was no "uncoloring" so no taking anything away ie negative reinforcement.

It was easy to learn and I assume easy for her to do, if that helps.

I mean more along the lines of chores and helping out around the house. I have a 5, 4, and almost 2 year old. I have expectations of them, and they understand them, but I was looking for some motivational ways to reward them and something that I can actually stick too.

Re: Positive reinforcements/ programs

Ah, ok.

Well, in my case, I wasn't really allowed to watch TV, just a couple times a week and only if my chores were done, so she did a chart for dishwasher unloading, putting away toys, and other stuff. We got a sticker on the day if we did it, and more than one missed sticker for the week meant no TV or movie time one day next week.

Not sure if that helps, either as it's negative reinforcement

But, I am sure you could flip it for positive reinforcement and have the chores visually and check them off or sticker them and then earn something else.

We use Accountable Kids program and really like it.
http://www.accountablekids.com/

It has chores, routines, positive and negative consequences along with long term rewards.

Is the Accountable Kids easy to implement? Is it easy to keep up with and consistent with. That is my biggest problem.
