Ouch Lucy, hope it was just a strain/nothing serious.

I spoke to my primary midwife today. She said that it happens very rarely but it's not out of the question. She said that most tears that do occur are superficial and will heal themselves. That said, we're going to do an ultrasound tomorrow since the pain is worse instead of better and I've started spotting bright red after a week of brown lochia.

I'm glad you are getting it checked. I hope it's nothing, but it does sounds suspicious.

The ultrasound tech took a dozen pictures of a big black oval shaped area (which is right where it hurts/bulges). Now we just wait for the results to find out what it is and if it'll repair itself.

Ouch! Even if it's not torn, that sounds painful. I hope your neighbor's dog was just trying to play and that your neighbor has apologized profusely. And, I hope this isn't costing you anything. I'm not confrontational, but that this really stinks for you.

Re: Post c-section internal tear

A friend on another board had her old c-section scar showing up as a thin black line on her u/s with her VBAC pregnancy. An oval doesn't sound very good. I hope it's something minor that will repair itself.

Thanks ladies. It definitely looked different on the left side (the unaffected side), so something is up.

She's a very sweet dog and was horsing around with my pup when it happened. My neighbour has been very apologetic, even though it was a total accident. Luckily health care in Canada is free (well, paid through taxes), so I'm not out of pocket for anything.

Re: Post c-section internal tear

I'm glad to hear it is a nice dog. We all know things happen when dogs play sometimes. I forgot you are in Canada. That's good you don't have to pay anything for this. I'm really not one to go around pointing fingers or suggesting suing or anything like that, but it would seriously stink if it was costing you money. I'm glad it isn't.

How long do you have to wait to get the results?
