Dyers, knitters,spinners, and hookers..June 11-17th

My loom is a flop =/ I changed it over to a backstrap loom-- but my heddle isn't very even, so I am having problems getting things to line up. My 'scarf' also turned out about 2 inches wide... Headband? Belt? Idk LOL

I leave for vacation on Monday or Tuesday (I'm going to miss Black Sheep ) and I am trying to figure out what to take with me. I hate not having access to my stash at all times! I can't take my wheel, but I just dug my old spindle out of its hidey-hole. Now I am trying to figure out the fiber I want to take. Then, tomorrow, I get to figure out a knitting project to pack. Decisions, decisions...

Hi mamas! I have tried to jump in on this thread and the KAL in the past... I definitely can't keep up with the KALs!!! But I wanted to start doing some more knitting. Hope you don't mind if I join back here. Is everyone working on knits for the fall? I am going through my stash and trying to plan. I have a lot of girly single skeins with trim -- any ideas for sweaters, hats, or any other projects? Thanks!!

Welcome! Girly Knits I love the Ivyanna since you can layer it for every season. Sweater I love the Springtime in Hollis, and of course dresses and skirties.

I'm trying to decide what to knit next and find that perfect pattern for my boys sweaters.. so I will probably end up mashing alot of patterns together lol.

I have 1 that does not care but the older one does and if it is not correct he won't wear it. I could sell it but I hardly think anyone would want it at the price I would have to sell it for just to recoup the cost of yarn. but you never know!

I have 5 skeins of Woodland Friends and 5 skeins of Barn Owl. THEY will wear it..

Yay! My handspun is dry. I am trying to decide between monkey socks and plain socks as my vacation knitting. Plain would be easier to concentrate on with 14 people (5 kids) around, but I think handspun monkeys would be cool. I can't get my camera to pick up the colors right.

Gorgeous! I'm so sad you're missing Black Sheep though

ETA: DH built the wheel, it wasn't a kit, he designed it. I have a crappy pic but I'll get one of me spinning on it soon. And the colorway I'll grab a pic of when I'm done plying it

Angela - Those 2 cw's will be perfect for boy sweaters.

Got some reskeining done including this new colorway.

Working on a tester sweater - I am actually done the hood now, I should get more pics.


Oh and I had to laugh. I asked my DH to wind this for me. He wound the cw into a 8oz ball The trim is a 4oz ball for size reference.

I am totally bummed too, but I think I am going to console myself by spending a couple long days on the beach at Pismo and hiking at Montana de Oro =D Also, OFF is only 3 months away, and I can likely spend both days there as long as M doesn't have to work.

I'm looking forward to the pics! That is so cool that your DH is crafty like that =D
