Re: Anyone else leave their childbearing up to God?

Hello ladies my name is Rachel i am 27 and have 4 children! 3 boys and i finally got my girl. I thought we would be done now but I have been convicted about it lately. I am struggling with giving it totally up to God. I mentioned having more kids and my husband was ready to get right to work lol, but I am still holding on to that control. We have a 6, 4, 2, and 1 yr old sometimes I feel selfish and just want time for my husband and I :/

Our attitude is:If He had intended us to use b/c, then Adam and Eve would've used b/c.

Re: Anyone else leave their childbearing up to God?

I have enjoyed reading through this thread. We have left our childbearing up to the Lord (minus a stint of 3 months right after having our oldest). I have 6 children- oldest is 10 1/2 and youngest is almost 6 months. My spacings have been anywhere from 18 months to 3 years.

While it is hard sometimes (more because of the comments people give) I love it!

Re: Anyone else leave their childbearing up to God?

We have also left the number of children we will have up to god. We got married at 17 1/2(me) and 18(DH) and I wanted children right away, but DH wanted to wait til we had a home and were a little more settled. DH's heart changed very quickly though, and we actually only prevented a few times. It was really hard for me to watch a lot of other people we knew getting pregnant easily though, when it took us 2 yrs and 3mos to conceive DS. I had a lot of jealous feelings and it took me some time to just completely trust god wether we had 10 children or none. We conceived DD really easily though, and it was such a blessing to us.

My DH comes from a family of 12 and we get a lot of comments. Everyone asks us if were going to have as many as DH's parents and we just tell them we don't know or maybe. Especially since we had DD everyone tells us one boy and girl is enough, but we try to let it roll off our backs. I don't understand why everyone thinks our fertility is their business. DH recently joked with me that he was going to start telling people that the duggars were our role models. Lol. The more we put our faith in god the more blessed we feel. We are so thankful for what the lord has given us. We've always wanted a large family, but if god saw fit to not give us any more children, so be it. We are blessed either way.

A lot of my friends give me slack because I truly believe that they are just an amazing family and have taught me a few things personally!
