The more empty the breasts get, the faster they make milk. However, they are never completely empty. Even when the pump can't get any more, the baby can. Even hand expression will be able to get more than the pump. Stanford put out a really great video on pumping/hand expression - it's very enlightening!

Several pp have said things that seem to contradict but they don't, necessarily. It does take at least 24 hours for your breasts to increase supply, so while your baby may not be able to get 4 ounces in 5 minutes an hour after you pump today, she will likely still be able to get 1-2 ounces or more and that will probably be enough to satisfy her, at least for an hour or so, and then she can nurse again and get a bit more.

I wouldn't worry about it. You're gonna have milk for her.
