Advice Please: Starting a cloth diaper sewing business
I hope it is ok to post this here. I am looking for someone to mentor me or go to for questions/advice in starting a cloth diaper sewing business. If anyone is interested in sharing how they got started and wants to give me some tips I would so appreciate it!

Re: Advice Please: Starting a cloth diaper sewing business
I don't have any business experience with that, but I just wanted to suggest something. Once you start selling your diapers, please get a good, navigable website with a professional looking cart and easy to view product details, photos, etc. Also, make sure the photos are very well done. I'd offer to help if you like, I'm a professional photographer. Anyway, I've done the GCDH a couple of times now and I can't say enough how off putting a bad designed website is to me. It makes me not want to come back and look at their products, no matter how good they might be.

I agree, a professional looking site makes all the difference.
When you're doing testers, don't make the same mistake I did and take a bunch of testers.. Because a. You'll be really overwhelmed and b. more than 1/2 of them don't leave feedback anyway. Maybe offer an incentive if they leave feedback.

Also, make a statement about your customer service (how long you offer snap replacement - what to do if something goes wrong with the diaper - etc) and stand behind it! Seeing that a business owner would stand behind her product for x amount of time makes a difference to a lot of people.

Re: Advice Please: Starting a cloth diaper sewing business
Thanks so much! I do have friends who will test for me too, so I know I will get helpful feedback. I am working on perfecting my pattern.
