I finally made an OS AIO!
----------------UPDATE BELOW!!!------------
(see update below original post) I've made tons of pocket diapers, NB AIOs, etc, a few shells, etc, etc, and just recently tried using FOE. Gosh, I've probably sewn over 200 diapers in the past 4 years. I've wanted to make an OS AIO, but just hadn't found a pattern I thought would be "the one." Currently, I normally use GroVia covers and pad folded flats. But we also love BGE's for Daddy to use, and for when I'm too lazy. Really, BGE's are easy! Our small stash of around 9ish BGE's are getting pretty worn, even with only part time use - though some have been part time use with two kids. I still need to do a ton of hand sewing to try to fix the current holes to get them to last a bit longer. I'd looooooooooove to just buy a new stash of 10 or so! But, there's just no way we can afford it! So, I'm attempting to make a few OS AIO's.... I've got one done so far! It's super far from professional, the inner is crooked, the seams aren't perfect (darn sewing machine likes to skip stiches sometimes, still haven't figured out why), etc, etc. front - (it's snapped down one on the rise snaps) ![]() back: ![]() I cut up two small birdseye flats for the inner and used cotton knit for the tabs. I don't think that the tabs will hold up as well as I was hoping. I think I need something more stretchy. Maybe polyester knit? Not sure... ![]() With the inner being birdseye, it seems more stiff. I'm planning to get some cotton knit to use instead to see if that works better. ![]() The PUL seems thicker than BGE's, so overall the whole diaper is stiffer. And it sorta seems like I made the back elastic too tight. So far, it seems like it fits pretty similar to BGE's, maybe a little more poofy (but that could be because the PUL is thicker). Of course, this is the first time DD (16months) has worn it, and she wasn't up for getting pics taken of her wearing it. ![]() ![]() All in all, I think it turned out pretty alright! I'm excited to get some more PUL cut out and stop in at the fabric store to find something else for the inner and tabs (hopefully tomorrow). __________________________________________________ ________________ __________________________________________________ ________________ __________________________________________________ ________________ UPDATED 7-25-12: I finally got several more finished the other day! Yay! For the tabs, I instead used some 100% polyester knit stuff, and used 4 layers on each tab (instead of just two as I did previously with the ooga cotton knit). For the inners, I would have choosen something more plain (no print), but apparently I'm incapable of finding any 100% cotton knit/interlock at Joann Fabrics that's just plain without any prints (the plain stuff all had some % of spandex or polyester or whatever, but not the prints...wierd). another blue ooga with dinosaur inner: ![]() two monkeys, one with kitty inner and one with footprint inner: ![]() two owls with footprint inners: ![]() ![]() And my pouty diaper wearer (she just turned 18 months): ![]() ![]() ![]() I have another one partially finished in dark purple with the kitty print inner. And two more ooga ones I'm trying to get started (and finished) for gifts for cousins that are preggers. Annd I did get some little monsters and little dinosaurs PUL at Joann Fabrics that I wanted to make too. So much to sew! =)

Re: I finally made an OS AIO!
Thank you!! =)
It's fun to finally get enough time here and there to finish something! If I remember right, the ooga print was from the yahoo coop group Sew It Seams (used to be This End Up). I have some pink flowery print and green monkey print from JoAnn Fabrics, and an owl print from somewhere that I'm gonna make up too. (But I'm not very quick!)
