Best underwear for petite toddlers?

My DD is 29 months and fully potty trained! Yay! Unfortunately, all of the underwear we've been able to find in our local stores just gapes on her tiny little bum. She is only about 24lbs with a 14 inch waist and the 2T/3T combo underwear is just not cutting it. She is wearing shorts right now that are 12mo and a few 18mo. I'm tempted to try Hanna Andersson XS but they are soooo expensive to get not knowing whether they will even fit. Looking for suggestions and thoughts about what you did for your skinny DD.

No, I cannot sew at all, so hold off on all the underwear-altering suggestions! I've talked with a lot of people with this issue with no good solution...you would think that undies companies would catch on and make the one size smaller than 2T.

I could always try to get custom ones but they are also quite expensive and who knows what the quality would be...

Walmart brand is bigger than the character stuff walmart carries. When DD was too small for the 2T/3T I got her some custom size 2 made. I can't remember who made them but it was on facebook and like $4 a pair. They were awesome! Hunt around for some WAHM made ones!

We got DD the princess ones. And tinker bell too.

ETA: I guess they were character ones, but they shrunk and fit real nice.

Hanes are the only ones that don't look like bloomers on DD.
