Who has had ultrasounds at 3D/4D places?

Was it for gender purposes? If so, was it accurate?

Also, how far along were you, and did they require you to have had an ultrasound with your dr first?

I had one with my now 5 year old. I was uninsured at the time and a elective u/s in my Dr office would have cost more. I was paying for everything oop.
I was 19 weeks and some days, we did it to find out the sex. It was accurate. They told me that since I hadn't had a anatomy scan yet, if they saw anything my Dr needed to know about, they had to call him and let him know. But all was well.
I didn't have my official anatomy scan until 32 weeks, once I got insurance.

I had one with youngest DS. It was the only u/s I had through the whole pregnancy and it was for gender purposes at 15 weeks 5 days. It was very obviously a boy I had only gone to the doc once to confirm the pregnancy and never went back.

I've gone a couple times. I went with Maddy, simply because I wanted the 3D/4D experience.

I have gone twice with this pregnancy, for gender purposes. I didn't want to wait! They guaranteed it at 15 weeks but the umbilical cord was in the way the whole time.

They had me come back for free a week later. They could clearly tell at 17 weeks, girl!

I had another ultrasound done at 23 weeks by my doctor and it was confirmed.
The place I went to had me fill out a form and give my doctors info. They asked if I had any complications to date.

I've been with both DD's.

Here you have to have your anatomy scan first before you can go for the 3d/4d.
AND they will NOT scan you before 20 weeks.

It was accurate both times.

I had one with my first pregnancy. They said they required an anatomy scan at drs first, but they didn't actually look at my records or call my drs office like they said they would. Really, we had it done just to find out gender. DS was being difficult at the 20wk u/s, and the tech had said probably boy, but don't buy everything in blue just yet. We had the 4d u/s done around 28wks. It was fun, but not something we bothered with for the second pregnancy. They were able to tell us baby was a boy.

I went at 14 weeks for gender determination. The place I go says 16 weeks on her site, but she said you could come at 14 weeks if you are thin. She had no problem telling that we are having girl #2. She did require proof of prenatal care.
