Baby monitor recommendations

Ok I am not pregnant...just had a baby 9months ago. However, I am thinking I need to get a new baby monitor to put in the room in.the basement with my older 2 boys (4 1/2 and 2). I like having it so I can hear if someone.gets up, is crying, etc. The one I have is from when.my oldest was a baby and makes crackling noises. What are some good brands? I am possibly just looking for an audio one...but also possibly one.that has video so I cam see.what is going on. Thanks for the help.

Re: Baby monitor recommendations

I have a set of Sony Baby Call and love them. They were on sale for 40-something dollars. We use it all the time for our sons' room and they have held up very well so far. Also have the "cheap" Summer vidio one from WalMart (it was gifted to us and around a $100) and while it's cool and all, if I was buying, I'd step it up a few notches on qulity.

Re: Baby monitor recommendations

We have the Motorola - MBP11 Digital Audio Baby Monitor for DS and love it. I didn't want all the fancy video monitors and such. Just something that lets me hear my babies. We have no static, very good range, and long battery life. There is actually no sound at all unless the baby is crying.
I have the Fisher Price 900 MHz from 4 years ago in my DD's room, and still love it. It has static, but I am so accustomed to hearing it the last four years that I have trouble falling asleep when it's not turned on!
Happy Shopping

I second the Sony. I tried many before settling on this one. Good luck. Oh and you might want to post this in parenting to get more responses.

I like the Snuza Video Monitor, it's a fairly new product, but all of their monitors are awesome and because they're a smaller, newer company they have really, really great customer service. Highly recommend! You can find them at snuza.info or on facebook at /SnuzaUSA.
