What medication can you take while BF'ing?

I am sick as a dog... I've been sick now going on two weeks..First I had a terrible head cold, and now it's moved into my chest..

I normally don't take anything when I'm sick, well b/c I don't want to..
But having 3kids, and the baby is up ALL the time I am not getting enough rest to get better on my own...
Is there anything I can take while bf'ing?
Or tips of what I can do?

Thanks mommas

Lemon and honey with crushed raspberries in hot water. Love it!

LactMed has an app that can show you the ratings of different meds. You can also google the infant risk center - they have a website and a hotline you can call.

For swelling-induced congestion, ibuprofen. Saline nasal spray. And non-medicated eye drops (ex - Blink Gel Tears) if your eyes are dried out. Hot washclothes over the face. But those are all for head things, if it's in your chest the only suggestion I've got is hot showers without running the bathroom fan.

the last time i had a lingering cold it turned into pneumonia and i spent 4 days in the hospital with a 6 week old. It was HORRID. Try to get rest. Maybe call your family dr and see what they say. I didnt realize how bad mine got till it was to late.

Pretty much everything has already been mentioned. There isn't much for colds that is safe to take while BF. If you are really miserable, then I would take something and just pump n dump. But make sure you don't take anything that is meant to help dry out your sinuses like an antihistamine because that can also affect your supply
