Re: What do you buy at costco/ sams?
I would try to get a day pass or go with a friend to both places and take notes on what you think you'd buy regularly. Different Costcos have different products too. We can find a lot more organic stuff at ours than at my parents.
We get: natural peanut butter, honey, chicken breasts, cheese, cage free eggs, organic frozen veggies, organic canned tomatoes, sauce and paste, nuts, litter, tide, and a lot of the other stuff already mentioned.

Re: What do you buy at costco/ sams?
We just went yesterday for our monthly trip, and we got chicken breasts , ham, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, water, monsters, yogurt, box of three cereal, energy bites, flatbread, granola bars, mac and cheese, a roasted chicken, and chips. this is the normal for us, I also tend to get my cheese, some frozen easy foods, spinach, bread, and gum. I use to get baby wipes, but now I get them from amazon and they are cheaper.

We have Sam's and my parents have a Costco membership. I go with my dad to one or the other, and we buy produce to split up between us.
When dd was on infant formula we used Sam's generic brand - equivalent to enfamil. I think it's worth I if you're using formula. You can get a free sample of Sam's generic brand, btw, to see if your LO will tolerate it before buying the big tub. It's made by PBM Nutritionals, as are many of the generics (CVS, Kmart, Walmart, Target I think, though not Costco). I got some enfagrow toddler formula for her there too, which we use if we're out of the house all day or run out of milk. It worked out to about the same price as the only generic toddler formula I've found around here (at the A&P). We use sposie Huggies wipes, so get those there in bulk. We also made a trip before a party last week and got great cheese/crackers, chips/salsa, and beverages.

Organic strawberry jam (YUM), almond butter (way cheaper), and organic frozen fruits and veggies. Def worth it.

Re: What do you buy at costco/ sams?
Thanks everyone! I didn't know I can get a day pass to see what they have. I'll have to do that. How much does it cost, and can I buy stuff that day? We buy little junk foods (... except my darn Pepsi One habit I can't kick
), and I'm starting to make my own bread and I am getting into canning. We keep our meals simple, lots of produce and pasta (probably the only processed food we buy a lot of). Thigns like granola bars, friut snacks, juice, etc are rare treats, so those won't probably sway my decision because we wouldn't use them all anyway lol. But I definitely need to see if flour/sugar/meat is worth it. Our chicken often goes on sale for $.78 a pound at the "nice" grocery store , and is always $.98 a pound at WinCo (their stuff like produce and meat tends to go bad if not used/frozen immediately, but their bulk section just can't be beat, so when I'm tight on money I go because their prices are even cheaper than the ones I said in my original post). Someone mentioned almond butter though, that reminds me that I'll have to check out almond milk prices, that is something that definitely makes me wince when we buy it, even at WinCo.

Re: What do you buy at costco/ sams?
I have both Sams and Costco. I love having both because I have a huge variety to choose from between the 2 and we do 90% of our shopping there.
BS chicken is cheaper at Sams and we prefer it ground beef is better at costco and cheaper costco carries miltons crackers, mexican blend cheese and sliced havarti sams carries dill havarti blocks, blocks of basic cheese are cheaper and more varietys Sams also carries alot of pick 2 items that are cheaper than the store. I like to get a thing of bagel thins and a thing of english muffins instead of costco where I have to buy the gigantic thing of just 1 item. costcos eggs are better Be sure to look at the cost per oz/lb instead of the sticker price. Some things are a great deal and others are just normal. lots of great deals if you want organics.
