Post Office has me worried...

I sent out a package for a trade... I was running a little late anyway because I had been sick & unable to leave the house. Anyway, I mailed it Priority, AT the Post Office on Thursday morning, and they told me it should arrive on Saturday.

So I hopped on just now to check the DC number and get this message:

You entered: 03120860000229541823 Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office.

Err, what? I have the green DC slip. I also have my debit card receipt. Both confirm I paid for DC. So what's the problem?

This has me really worried.

No advice, but empathy abound. I always get nervous when something is amiss at the PO.

I wouldn't worry too much about it right now. I have had this happen to me many times. Usually the DC shows all of its stops in one day....when the package is delivered. They don't always scan & update the DC b/c it's technically not a tracking number.

Yeah, I've seen that happen plenty when I print the label through PayPal, but that's why I purchased this AT the post office. I watched her scan it in, and it's printed on my receipt. Even if it's not updating it should still say that it was received at my post office on 6/14 at 10:37am.

I'm hoping that it's a glitch in their system caused by the late hour. I've seen some sites get buggy after midnight...

It may be a glitch. Have you double checked you entered the right number?

It was a glitch!

I just went & checked again and ALL of the info is there and it WAS delivered at 9:25 am.



Let this be a lesson to those who come after- the USPS website gets buggy after midnight.
