In NorCal they are $1 per "basket", I think it's a pint. They are locally grown here so it's pretty easy to find them.

Re: Whats a good price on cherries?

For us it looks like its going to be 2.99lb this year. The weather killed off most of the local cherry crop this year. So ours are coming from CA and are on sale for 2.99 at the grocery store. I'll have to check the farmer's market in a few weeks if any local orchards were able to produce cherries. The one place I have found that did have some cherries is charging $3 lb if you buy over 10 lbs otherwise 4 for pints and 8 for quarts. Its really not looking good for MI farmers this year (or consumers). Still waiting to see if we'll have any local apples, but judging by our few trees not going to be to many Michigan apples either.

I rarely, if ever, buy them since they are typically $4/lb or higher.

I swear they were 1.99 last week at the FM. So either I'm crazy or everyone in WA heard about the poor cherry crops elsewhere in the country and upped their prices. Cherries were 3.50 a pound at the FM yesterday, and $6 at the grocery store!! on a positive note, at least I finally found something that was actually cheaper at the FM, even if it was too much for me to pay.

Weird. I literally JUST got an email after posting my last post from the grocery store I was at yesterday. Cherries are now 2.49 a pound instead of $6. Kinda creepy lol.
