How do you freeze spaghetti sauce?

I found an awesome recipe for spaghetti sauce, and I made one batch. Now I wanna make a few and freeze them in 1 cup portions. How do you freeze spaghetti sauce? I was thinking of buying small containers but maybe ziplock bags would work?

Re: How do you freeze spaghetti sauce?

I use freezer bags. We just defrosted and used some sauce on Saturday for dinner. If you look up Bread in Five Minutes a Day at your local library you can also freeze garlic bread to go with it. I take the peasant bread recipe in the book and add 2 Tbsp of crushed garlic to the dough. Then before baking I coat in olive oil and sprinkle generously with Italian seasoning. My family loves this combination.

+1 for freezer bags! I freeze in 2-cup increments and then lay the bags flat to freeze. That way they are more organized in the freezer and thaw faster.

I use plastic containers. I make a HUGE batch of sauce at once and then divide it up and freeze it.

I have done it in ziploc bags...but I've also had leaks with ziplocs. I got a big lot of the Ball freezer jars on craigslist and they work AWESOME!

I've had them leak as well. I just make sure to thaw them in a bowl or on a plate.

Great tip. I knew I was saving those baby food jars for something.
