Re: If you could name your kids again, would you name them the same?

If I could go back in time and talk to my 18 yr old self, I would tell myself to name my oldest Cadence instead of Caitlin. Not that I dislike her name at all, I just really really really hate how it's SO SO freaking popular among her age group, and I hate how no one can spell it right despite my efforts to pick the right spelling. I really like the name Cadence and I couldn't use it for either of my younger two because Caitlin and Cadence just didn't sound right as a sibling group-too confusing.

Yep, even the one named Rebel...and EVERYONE seems to hate that name. I have had so many people ask what his name is, and when I tell them, they just kinda look at me and are like "no, really, what's his name?" No. Really. His name is Rebel. The only one that I really occasionally have second thoughts about is our first son, Ashton...because we did not realize when we gave him that name that it was apparently a VERY popular girls name in our area about three years before he was born...couple that with the fact that he has kinda delicate features & longer shaggy blonde hair...a lot of people seem to think he's a girl at first if they don't notice what he is wearing.

All except my oldest. Her name is Olivia and 15 hears ago, pretty much unheard of and now super popular. I dont like popular names at all. But she fits the name well, and she likes it. Really all that matters.

No. Too bad we're all used to them now.

I had no idea how trendy my DD's name was becoming when I gave it to her. I always thought we'd have at least one more child but now that we will not be, I'm sad I'll never get to use the names I love.

i'd change, my ods is Matrim (pronounced Mat-trim), my ex-named him that, I thought it was a cool name, but I wanted Tavian. And now the ex is a ding dong who has no relationship with him, so yeah, I would go back and change his name to the name I wanted.
But Matrim is cool too.

Depends on the day. I love their names, but call them many other things depending on how frustrating they are.

Re: If you could name your kids again, would you name them the same?

im not sure. My kids are named after family members, both first and middle names, I really like their names and i think they suit them but now i feel like im stuck naming any future babies after family as well.

Sometimes i wish i had given them their "own" first names and a family name as a middle name(s)
