BTW I had terrible pain, vomiting and a fever, high white blood cell count, etc it was a kidney stone, with somewhat displaced pain.

They are not recommend for the first 12 weeks after that they are known to be okay. Even for a pregnant tech they are not supposed to be scanning for the first 12 weeks. There is no radiation to worry about.

Yup I had one at 28 weeks with my youngest AND a ct scan. she is totally fine

I never had a MRI pregnant but I had a chest x-ray and DD was fine. I think an x-ray is worse because of the radiation.
I just read about another lady on this board that had an MRI done on her actual fetus because they suspected a brain abnormality. I'm guessing that if they are willing to actually aim one at the fetus they can't think it is that dangerous. I hope they find a solution for your pain. I had intense gallbladder pain through most of my first pregnancy and it was terrible. I wish I had the power to make no one have to suffer pregnancy pain.
