Dying Flats - Is This Dye Okay?

I really want to try dying the white and tan diapers in my daughter's stash. We've been using flats forever and I love them, but ready for some more colorful diapers.

Is iDye okay to use? I would use that with the fixative.

Would I need anything else?

Keep in mind I've never dyed anything before in my life.

Re: Dying Flats - Is This Dye Okay?

Just saw this and I hadn't seen iDye before, but I googled it and it's made by jacquard, who makes some great procion dyes that I have used before. I'd assume this would be of similar quality, although the instructions look very similar to dylon so it's composition is likely similar as well.

Don't forget to come back and post if you do use it! (and show pics!)

Personally I did not like the iDye. I would suggest either procion or dylon and use the soda ash (you can get it cheap at pool supply places). IMO those are the only two dyes that actually set really well.

Thank you both! I think I will just go with dylon and the soda ash and try that. The soda ash is in place of the salt, right? And is it 1:1 when it comes to the amount I use?

Thanks again!
