Potty learning.

Did anyone seem to have a tough time with potty learning their cloth diapered kids?

The reason I ask, my oldest DS was not in cloth diapers, and he potty learned at 2 1/2, rather easily, and we never looked back. Probably because sposies feel so gross. lol, But my younger DS, who is cloth diapered, does not want to use the potty AT ALL. He will be 4 in October. When I was first researching CD'ing, I read everywhere that it was easier to potty learn, now I'm wondering if that's just not true, or something is up with my son.

I have tried every method of potty learning. He knows how to use the potty, he can easily pull his pants up and down, he knows when he has to go (he tells me), but he just does not want to use the potty on a consistent basis.

I would love for him to attend a pre-school in the fall, but it's not going to happen if he doesn't use the potty! (Yes, I've told him that!)

If he knows how and is just refusing to do it I doubt it's because of the type of diapers he wears. Sounds like a power struggle to me. I went through the same thing with dd2. She knew the hows, whats, whys, just didnt want to actually do it. I backed off, kept her in diapers(cloth) and she finally decided that she'd go the wk before she turned 3. Night time though she was in sopies and flat out told me she wanted to wear diapers b/c she didnt want to get up. She decided to get up at night the wk before she turned 4. So for her I know it didnt matter what type of diaper (since she used both lol) but it was all about control.
