Re: Too many blackberries!
Yum! I planted a couple blueberry bushes last year, but they died. I have a blackberry post in the homesteading forum too, so you might check there--some of those things are very yummy!

blackberry dumplings! We made these every year when I was a kid whenever we started getting the "too many blackberries" feeling. I use the blackberry method (minus the cinnamon because of allergies) in this recipe, but go the easy way with dumplings and use a bisquick dumpling recipe.

Re: Too many blackberries!
I love Hands&Fire Pottery's ideas. I would give them to friends and try selling the berries and homemade products at a farmers market.

Maybe find someone with "too many" blueberries or cherries and trade?

Sangria! Soak them overnight (in the fridge) in red wine with sliced lemons and limes and add a splash of brandy. Serve chilled.

I'm going to be doing the syrup, and got some delicious ideas from the homesteading forum, but I have got to go to the store tomorrow because I've run out of canning jars. Does anyone know the cheapest place to get them? I usually get mine at Walmart, but wondering if there was somewhere online that was cheaper. I'm going to need a bunch!
