nausea and dizziness

it started last night..i will get random dizzy spells with nausea out of nowhere. last night it actually got worse when i laid down..ended up falling asleep with a cold rag on my forhead with a bowl next to me just in case. its happened just a couple times today...blood pressure is fine so im not worried there. dont recall this happening in the last two pregnancies...is this something that is normal for other mammas?
by the way i am 31 weeks preggo

Re: nausea and dizziness

What about your blood sugar? If that's off it can cause those symptoms. Or inner ear problems?

I was feeling the same for a week straight and it turns out I was severely dehydrated.

Re: nausea and dizziness

you know what...my blood pressure has been really low lately...i usually run around 120+/70+ and lately its been as low as 100/50...i have mentioned it to my doctor and she doesnt seem concerned. I dont understand how high blood pressure is a huge concern but low is not..she said it could be dehydration or lack of excercise....maybe thats what its from...the low BP

Re: nausea and dizziness

I've noticed myself being nauseated at random times and dizzy. I've been dizzy off and on the whole pregnancy though. I've noticed that I get nauseated when I'm hungry. I don't feel hungry and food is the last thing I want to think about when I feel that way, but I feel much better if I eat something.

The bp can drop very quickly and because of increased blood volume if your heart rate decreases it can cause those type of spells. Had you eaten anything recently? It is not uncommon to become dizzy/ nauseated if your blood glucose is a little low. Try increasing protien content to keep blood glucose at a steady rate.

I was getting those feelings a while back for about a week. I thought for sure I was eating well and staying hydrated. My BP is on the low side, with the lowest recorded being 90/48. I thought it had to be my BP, but no one seemed concerned about that. The only thing I've changed is increasing my fluid intake and I haven't had any problems since. I drink about 100-120oz of water per day now, with a gatorade thrown in every couple days just for variety sake. I hope its as easy a fix for you as it was for me!
