Umm, I don't think this should be a big issue. Maybe if you are having lots of wicking you need to add absorbancy or change more often or strip your dipes? We have the very occasional wicking--only when the diaper is super soaked. Other than that I don't think it should wick unless maybe the fit is off or something?

It could vary by the brand of onesies too since they are designed different.

Pockets are my least favorite type of diaper. I find that they will wick even if they are just a little over soaked while my BGE's don't. I also love fitteds or a prefold with a cover that I made myself. For me every cover that I tried leaked. The ones I made only leak if it's been on my baby way too long.
