Do you let your girls play with Barbie dolls?

Yes, we don't buy them but other people buy them and we let our kids play with them. Our son quite enjoys dolls of all types and Barbie-type dolls in particular. They make fantastic weapons BTW LOL!!

I only let mine play with the naked ones. I don't own them, but if we're at playgroup or somewhere they can go to town with the nakey ones. The reason I hate Barbies so much is because getting their clothes on requires some mad skills that I don't possess. Until my kids are big enough for entirely independent Barbie-dressing I would never contemplate getting them.

The cheapo dollar store generic clothes have a Velcro strip up the back. Super easy, if they ever get into them it might help

Yes they do! I used to throw them at my brothers when they made fun of me too much! Lol.


If I had a girl, I would let her play with them with no restrictions. I had a bin full of Barbies and have no issues. FTR when I got a Barbie I immediately stripped her and put her clothes in a special box. The clothes got in the way too much and got too dirty with how I played with them..I usually flooded the garden and backyard playing with them so they would be super muddy!

If I had girls, then yes. I remember having so much fun with my barbies and changing outfits!

I have no problems with barbie. My kids have a huge tub of them. They already had quite a few, and then I found about 20 in a garage sale for $2! They love them. There are no restrictions here. It is a toy to me. It is my job as a parent to teach my child about self image and how to love themselves. Not a plastic doll.

I let my BOYS play with barbies (my oldest was obsessed), but not with Bratz or Divas or any of those skanky (imo) looking dolls.

I would never buy one, but my DD got four at her fourth birthday party. She has named them Storm, Rogue, Jean Grey, and Kitty Pride (all from the XMen) and they have all-girl XMen adventures all over our house. LOL.
