Ikea Crib
Does anyone have a crib from Ikea? I'm looking at these two
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50213565/ http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20203332/ I want white, and I like the simplicity of the design and the price, but am wondering about the quality and sturdiness. Ikea is about an hour from me, so not too far, but I don't want to make the trip if the quality is bad. any thoughts? Other cribs I should look at in similar price range?

Re: Ikea Crib
I had 2 several years ago for DD3 and DSS. I love them. I helped my mom choose one for my sister recently and we are about to buy on that makes a toddler bed. I found them to be very sturdy and well made even though we had to take them apart to be moved a few time. I much prefer them to the $$$ crip we bought for DD1(never slept in
) the finish held up MUCH better.

Re: Ikea Crib
Ok good to know! I found one on Craigslist for $45 that looks like it's in great condition. I'm hoping it's still available because that's an even better price than new. Are they pretty easy to take apart and put back together? Or is it a pain like most Ikea furniture?

I have the Gulliver crib and we love it so far. It wasn't too bad to put together and we bought the chew rail attachments for when she starts to teeth and stand up. It is very sturdy, clean looking and doesn't take up a lot of space like some of the big expensive sleigh style or heavy cribs, but it still takes a full size mattress. I don't believe you have to sacrifice your baby's college fund to buy a safe and reliable crib.

I find them pretty easy. Just a few parts really.

So true! I actually really like the simple cribs more than the expensive, fancy ones. I'm excited for my new purchase! Crossing my fingers the Craigslist one is still available.

Re: Ikea Crib
To me for the price, if you can afford it, buy new as you don't know how it was cared for. Cribs and car seats are the priority for me. I have looked at them and they are nice but I prefer a bigger/fuller crib. They are nice as they are low to the ground and have a small footprint. We got an Ikea twin bed and I am not a huge Ikea fan and its been wonderful.

Re: Ikea Crib
We got the Gulliver for DS and it's now DD's. It's moved to three different states in that time (lots of taking apart and putting back together). We love it!
