My first thought was slap cheek, aka 5th disease. My nephew had it around his age, maybe 24 mo, and his fever got sooo high, 104ish. They had to alternate between tylenol and ibuprofen b/c he was so irritable. Either way, I hope y'all got some help

His fever has lowered. He is still not drinking, barely eating. Still has a head to toe rash. Crying alot.
Follow up this morning had Drs kinda against each other. Still could be viral/bacterial. Not sure. Just doing Tylenol/Motrin. Praying for an easy night.

Keep a close eye on him, what did the dr's say, just to alternate tylenol and motrin, but when do you take him back for another check?
If they didn't give an appt, or give instructions on what to do if he continues not eating/drinking, take him to the ER.
Prayers he is ok.

Yes. That's what they said. I'm taking him back today.
Yesterday he ate 3 chicken nuggets, some pudding, applesauce and a few bites of a breadstick. He drank maybe 3 sippy cups of juice/milk but in the evening didn't wanna drink any.

Morning Update: he is taking some bites of toast and had 3 little bites of some pudding and is drinking sips, but seems to be his funny goofy self this morning. He slept well. No more fever.

Afternoon update: still no signs of fever. But Dr is adament about seeing him again today. Waiting on nurse to call me back with the 48 hour blood results. He is still only sipping and nibbling here and there.

Glad the fever is gone! I hope he gets his appetite back soon and the blood work comes back good.
