i need ideas!

our basement has no ceiling, but the rest of it is finished, we have no budget to construct something but i dont want the view of pipes and wires and such, what would be something to cover it up thats cheap?

Don't know what its called but it is like checker board & light tile type things to put up ( no multicolors like checker board. U can get tiles with fiberglass which is itchy. My mom has it & in our bathroom that was an add on to house..

It might sound trashy, but we went to the thrift store and bought a bunch of plain white bedsheets, and stapled them to the floor joists at regular intervals. I pulled them tight while husband stapled, so there's no sagging between. It looks rather nice, IMO, and softens the "basement" look somewhat.

My Aunt also used sheets until they were able to save up for a real ceiling. She had navy blue ones that she found on clearance cheep. It looked nice.

Ours is just spray painted black. Nothing is really noticeable unless you are looking closely at it. I think our ceiling is too low to do much else with it.
