Cherries - the fruit kind!!!
Do you give your toddlers cherries?? Do you just let them swallow the pits??
My 2 year old loves "balls" - cherries - but I am super paranoid about the pits. What do you do - right now I bite the cherries in half and take out the pit then give them to him but then he gets mad that they aren't "balls" anymore LOL!!! He has sneaked a few whole cherries and was fine so I'm not sure if the pits are small enough not to be a problem?!?!?!? |

I cut them in half and scoop out the pits. If your son wants them to stay in a ball shape, could you use a cherry pitter?

push the pit out one side, don't let your child bite a whole cherry with pit, they can choke.

Cherry pitter! A bobby pin works, too, to scoop the pit out and leave the cherry reasonably whole.

I got the OXO cherry/olive pitter. I read many reviews and this is truly a great item. I used to cut them for my daughter and it was a pain.

Re: Cherries - the fruit kind!!!
I just push out the pit. Cherries are DS1's favorite food, and it was too time consuming to cut them in half.

Re: Cherries - the fruit kind!!!
I cut around the pit. Start at the top on one side and cut all the way around. Pit is out with 2 small slivers of cherry that I cut off and eat. Then the cherry is like a ribbon but closes up to look like a circle again.
