Your dd's name reminds of Acadia National Park in Maine. It reminds me of Native Americans and French, all in one. Perhaps you could use that a springboard.

Good luck!

I think Alea and Akadia sound wonderful together.

I heard "Cypress" for a boy the other day on Baby Story and I really liked that one.

Boys:

Elisha Nathaniel
Napthali
Jude
Afton

Ooooooo...I think Afton and Akadia sound excellent. It was one of my top picks for my last baby, but sadly was never used. I got it from the Nickel Creek song, Sweet Afton, which is a poem by Robert Burns

The actual poem

Re: Baby Name help!

Afton is also the name of a mountain in Virginia. It also means "evening" in Dutch. Alden is another similar name, also Alrik. I also like Avi, to complete the A theme!

If you like nature names, I have a great list of boys ideas:
Aspen
Marsh
Bridger
Ridge
Atlas
Hudson
Reid
Orion
Birch
Summit
Denver

For girls, there are three S names that I like: Shanti, Shiloh, and Suri. Of course, I freely admit to becoming aware of Shiloh and Suri only once Brangelina and Tomkat named their respective children that.
