Quick! Whats your best home remedy for breast infection?

This is not my first go around with mastitis...but..it does seem late in the game for it! Ds is 2. Gahhh! I just cant be dowm with an infection this week...last time I had it..i was down for days running 102 to 103. So, tell me please..what do you do to ward it off or clear it up quick. Echinaciea is my go to option...what else?

no idea on a home remedy for a potentially advanced infection...but a shot of rocephin (spelled wrong i'm sure) worked magic within hours for me.

The benefits outweighed the risk, as I felt like death and looked it too within a few hours of symptoms beginning and was admitted at the ER upon arrival.

Vitamin C and garlic are also both good for warding off infection. LOTS of fluids and frequent nursing or pumping.

I use raw garlic. Swallow 1 clove every hour until symptoms clear up and then 1 clove ever 3-4 hours for about 24 more hours.

My doctor suggested putting cold cabbage leaves in your bra when you have mastitis and to eat a lot of pineapple...sounds so weird but it worked! I would also make sure you keep nursing or pumping because it hurts so much less when your not engorged.

There is a homeopathic called...phytocandra/callum or something like that that I used the one time I got mastitis. I also second the natural Vitamin C (like a whole food supplement or Bolthouse C-boost smoothie). Colloidal silver can be very helpful for an infection, but i'm not sure how safe it is for breastfeeding.
