This! I learned it from a friend and I think it's awesome.

I try (briefly) to figure out if LO is tired or frustrated and deal with it. If it's just bad behavior I try redirection. If she's just whining, she gets put in the crib for a time out.

I hate to admit this, but a lot of the techniques I use in dealing with bad behavior come from dog training. Good behavior rewarded, bad behavior ignored/redirected/immediately corrected.

I don't have an anxiety disorder, but the sound of my kiddo crying is like this overhelming wave of emotion that I cannot ignore or focus on anything else. I know when I was having bad post partum issues, I had to put the baby in the crib (knowing she was safe) and walk away. I needed to get my stuff together so I could be a good mama.
