Used Best Bottom prices....really???

I have been looking at Best Bottom diapers and they look really nice, but I'm really surprized at the used price on the FSOT forums. Are they really that great that you can sell them for soooo much. It seems like the consensus is to sell the cover only for $14-$16 and you can buy a brand new cover for $17 with free shipping. How great are they? That seems a bit hight to me. Just curious.

I'm frequently baffled by FSOT prices. I was looking at wool on there earlier this week and wondering why I should buy used for $1-2 less than new I'm not trying to be snarky, I just do t get it. I ended up buying new.

I agree... you can't expect to sell your seconds for so much. Maybe they figure they will get talked down so start high?

Yes I've noticed this here in the states. In the UK used stuff is always 50% of the new price unless it's Weenotions or Little Gumnut (sort of their Goodmamas). In the US people just sell their used stuff at really high prices; I think it's a culture thing

When I was in the UK I just always bought used stuff, but since moving to the states, I've just been buying new. People want too much $ for things that are used. I'd rather just buy new.

Hmmm. I sold my Best Bottom shells for $10. That said, I always try to price my stuff really low and people will still make offers. It drives me crazy. It's worse on CL. This is partly why I'd rather sell online. I hate having someone at my house trying to give me $30 for something they've already agreed to pay $40 for.

I wonder if people price high because they know there will be some haggling over price.

Oh and as far as the best bottoms cover goes:

I just got a free one from Diaper Junction with the free cover code. I like it. I normally use Blueberry covers. It's kinda cool because you can snap stuff into it. So if I had prefolds I could put snaps on them and then just snap them down into the cover.

However, for $17, I'd personally still buy Blueberry. The Best Bottoms is slightly narrower than Blueberrys. The leg gussets are great. The shape is really nice too. It seems nice and snug so I'd imagine if you like a trimmer look, you'd like these. The quality is really good too. The PUL looks nice and strong. My free one came with aplix (I'm a snap kind of girl myself) but it's actually kind of nice. The aplix is strong and does actually stick to the laundry tab so far. It also doesn't cut into DD's tummy like a lot of aplix diapers do.

So if you are curious and need more covers, they are really nice

Yeah. I don't get it either.

I also don't get who values their time so little that they'd rather bump a thread day after day after day because people don't want to pay nearly retail prices for used poo catchers, rather than price them to move.
