Re: What makes big family?
It probably depends on the society you live in- who you are exposed to, etc. We are baking our fourth, and we don't really know many people with that many kids, so to many we are a big family. But if we were around families who had a bunch more kids than us (like thinking of DH's bff growing up who was LDS), 4 might be just medium sized.

Re: What makes big family?
i've got 3 now (ages 8, 7 & 4) and am pregnant with twins. people always tell me what a BIG family we will have when the babies come. i feel like 5 is big while 4 isn't really :P maybe because we'd planned 4 and are now going to have 5.

Re: What makes big family?
Considering the American average, 4 definitely qualifies as big!

Re: What makes big family?
I've noticed that society seems to dub anythimg bigger than the American avg of 2.4 kids as "big". We have four with #5 on the way and I don't feel "big". In your case, I say display that sticker with pride!!! Triplets should DEF count as big

Re: What makes big family?
I grew up in Oregon, we had four kids. Average was 2-3 We were considered a big family, but a friend of ours had 7 and they were HUGE. Now I live in Utah. 4-5 is average. Any less than 3 is small, and 7 is big. HUGE would be over 10 or 11 (I actually know several families in this catagory). So I think it is relative to what part of the country you are in. To me 4 is big, because well that's what we were always labeled growing up. But dh grew up in a family of 5 and never considered it big, they were average. He also grew up in Utah, families are just bigger here. I think you more than should have a big families sticker. Heck you deserve a metal for triplets!

Re: What makes big family?
I can agree with the moms with children close together or multiples because I have 3 kids which I don't think is alot, but people always look at me like I have sooooo many kids. Maybe b/c I have 3 kids 4 and under which includes 1 year old twins.
