Re: To all the CIOers

It's funny how babies don't always live up to our parenting ideals I'm glad you and baby are getting some sleep.

Glad you got some sleep! Not all CIO is bad, sounds like you did exactly what you needed.

I truly believe that sometimes we get situations sent our way to teach us compassion for others. I know that some of the unplanned things in my parenting have taught me so much compassion for other mothers that I used to judge.

I'm glad that you and your child are getting some sleep.

DO you mean it took four weeks or you did CIO with a 4 week old?

In my experience, CIO lead to my children becoming extra clinging during the day.

I agree. There was things I said while I was pregnant that I would never do. Now I do. Example: ds is 10months and addicted to a paci / co-sleeping.....

I try really hard not to judge others. But it is hard when they don't try to educate themselves.. and if i didn't choose cloth diaper I would be doing the same things im judging other parents on. I say that because I have learned alot on DS and other CD/green/attached parenting forums.

I totally totally agree with this. I always try to be understanding of the choices people make...and I do find that when I let myself become judgemental, I usually end up finding myself in a similar situation which leads me to have a whole new understanding for why people do things!

Re: To all the CIOers

Glad things worked for you! I am not against forms of CIO at all and found some versions of it to work quite well for my daycare kids and my own kids. Totally supportive of parents parenting to the individual child and parenting with their own needs in mind.

I am glad that this whole experience has helped you be more open minded. Those type of experiences are always healthy, dont you think?
