Wet them, squirt with lemon juice, put them in the sun for a day, and they should be as good as new.

Re: Diapers Staining?

Charlies Soap did nothing good for our diapers. They were SO stained. I ended up selling them really cheap, and got a whole new stash. We use Rockin' Green now.. stains still happen sometimes, but nothing like with the Charlies.

Not sure about whether formula vs breast milk affects staining, but I noticed that for ebf poo and my LO, my diapers wouldnt stain if I sprayed them and left them sopping wet in the pail. And EBF stains sun right out in like an hour (at least they do here in sunny SoCal).

Re: Diapers Staining?

I have noticed that EBF poop tends to stain more than when they are on solids. I have no experience with formula though. I will say that Charlie's did not clean well for us and switching to Tide left us with very few stains. Whatever is left can very easily be sunned out though.

Your diapers are not ruined. They just need some sunshine.

Try the sun and maybe check to make sure your water is getting hot enough.

Re: Diapers Staining?

I used Charlies for all of my sons diapers that didn't get stained so I don't think its the soap. I do the Sanitize Cycle on them its 150 degrees. I will try the lemon juice and sun. We have a clothesline but I haven't tried it since I had DD just been to tired so always done the dryer. It could be our washer I HATE it that is one difference we bought a new one.

Sunning and lemon juice work well...but what really worked for me, a little bleach in the wash! I know not everyone wants to use it and say it destroys the diapers but i use just a little bit, maybe a 1/6 cup, and all the stains went away.

I used sun definitely. I used shout on dress too & it helped. My ebf baby poo yea stained if I just put in pail.I usualy just wash in sink & then in pail & hot cold, heavy soil with prewash in washer. Did well... try oxiclean or something too.
