Nope, not painful...just like donating blood....It depends on how hydrated you are. Drink lots of water the day before you go....it usually took me no linger than 2 hours.

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of July 2nd
I didn't think an hour or two would make all that big of a difference. I guess I was wrong. I didn't have any of these issues before, but I was only on one hormone drug not two. The Lupron I had no control over, but the other is the problem. I'm just going to set an alarm to remind me to take it in the mornings. I have to eat with it though so I guess I will boil eggs so they are ready to eat.

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of July 2nd
amyltc, glad to hear that you have a plan. that makes it so much easier! to know what you are doing and when. We had planned on doing IVF this month but canceled it. I actually got a part time job and my dh got another part time job. Turns out we don't need the money for that right now after all. So in total my dh and I have 5 jobs. crazy, right? Also, my dh has donated plasma before and it was no big deal. You do what you have to do.
Also, the plasma is for a great cause to help others too! I'm sure you could make $1,000 in a year on ebay and craigslist. You will be surprised at what you can find to sell!!! Also, you can do a yard sale and let your friends/family know you are fundraising (not sure who knows but you can always tell them it is to pay off some bills) and I bet they would donate as well. I know just doing a little yard sale makes me at least $100 if not up to $300. |

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of July 2nd
meeshkasheeba - I guess your just a big reminder to us all!
![]() JCPACandMommy - Too cool! I hope you start a string of BFP's on here. We didn't get a good enough start with the last batch. ![]() jacquelinemarie82 - Good luck tomorrow! BTW I am not POAS. I have debated it and debated it and because I got a false negative with my son, I don't want to test. With my beta as quick as it is, I don't think I will need to anyway. So I will be one of the few that goes in for a beta that truly doesn't know the outcome already.

Good luck!
I figured out some things. I talked to the IVF nurse at the clinic and she told me that I will be on 1 pill 3 times a day of prometrium and once a day PIO 1 ml (cc). This is roughly 650 mg of progesterone a day. More then enough for a healthy pregnancy. I was on 1400 mg before so therefore I was shocked. Also, they only gave me 10 day supply of each of these drugs (progesterone). So that implies heavily that they will do my beta test on July 23 and not July 31 (my appointment on July 13 is to see if I am go for this cycle and starting progesterone). So clearly a lot has changed in the last 4 years at my RE's clinic. This basically means I have less then a 1 week wait to see if this works.
Needless to say, I will not be doing an HPT this time as I don't know it would pick it up at that point. I am figuring they are wanting a beta around 50 at that point. My 2 prior IVF pregnancies have had a beta of ~400 14dp3dt which is roughly 50 on that day, and ~1000 14dp5dt which is roughly 62.5 on that day. So I should be fine but
I assume that I would get a shipment of Progesterone rather quickly assuming the line turns blue on the 23. They have me take the PIO in the evening so that should help a bit. I am just having a hard time wrapping my head around all of this. Even though I feel confident that it will work.
