Mirena, Soy Iso and TTC...

Alright, I currently have Mirena. We are planning on TTC starting Nov 1 and I am trying to decide the best time to have the IUD removed. I have PCOS and am worried that it will take forever again. I am planning to try Soy Isoflavones first before going the Clomid route...I figure the more natural, the better, right? So, my question: Can I count the day the IUD is removed as CD1?? And then take the Soy that week. Or do I HAVE to wait for a real period? I've had cycles that lasted over 100 days before and have OFTEN needed Provera to get AF. DS1 was 6 rounds of Clomid (18m total), DS2 was 3 rounds of Clomid (7 months total)...DS3 was a happy NFP fail (completely erratic cycles combined with my laziness=DTD the ONE time I O lmao). Anyway...if I have to wait for a real period, I will have it removed now (well, Sept 1 when the new health insurance kicks in) since it'll be like 6 weeks til I get AF. If I can count the removal as CD1, I will just wait til mid October to have it removed.

I hope that makes sense lmao

Re: Mirena, Soy Iso and TTC...

I O'd 2 weeks after mine was removed. Not saying this is the right way to do it...but I personally would...just so maybe it would get things on track, kwim. BUT....I took soy iso 3 months in a row first CD5-9 and O'd on CD 20, then CD3-7 and O'd on CD 19, then CD 1-5 and O'd on CD 18. I was O'ing on CD 1- 14 before soy iso. I skipped a month of soy and just took Vitex and Maca.....I can say I did get a chem pg I believe twice during those months. The last cycle...I took nothing. We were going to take a break and wait till I lost a little weight and got my blood pressure at a better level...well...I got preggo! LOL....but I think it had to do with my drastic diet. I eliminated sugar, ate mostly paleo, drank only water...wiped out ALL soft drinks and I O'd on CD 23....and viola. I lost 7 pounds in those two weeks and 15 inches.

ETA: I too have mild PCOS and I was reading that a sudden weight loss could boost fertility. So that is another reason why I wanted to lose weight. I never starved my self....I boosted my calories and ate super healthy. I know that was totally not your question. Just a life experience. Haha...

I did not count removal day as CD1. It took me 38 days to get a period - and my cycles are normal at 28-30 days. You'll end up with withdrawal bleed a coupe days after removal, but that is not to be considered a real period.

SO did you take the Soy on day 5 after removal? Or the next cycle?

Oh no sorry...I should have clarified. The Mirena removal was 6 years ago... but taking soy iso was recently. I didn't take soy iso after my IUD removal but O'd 2 weeks after removal.
