Diaper Swappers

Hi, all!! We are in the hospital loving our new baby boy, even though he's as big as a toddler already! 11pounds 1 ounce. 21 3/4 inches long and his daddy's twin! We have three girls and his gender was a surprise. We don't have a name picked out yet.

We were scheduled today at 8:30am for csection #4. Last night at midnight I went into extremely hard and intense contractions that had me screaming in the bathroom til three when it woke my husband up and he called the hospital to see what to do. He came in and said we're going now. I was having a hard time walking and crying all the way. The contractions were like five minutes apart and so painful. I felt I couldn't get any break to regain myself. I had to get prepped for surgery like this with iv, catheter, spinal.... Many questions. The baby was out at 4:40am and the size shocked us all! The doctor kept saying Wow, look at the size of the head, look at those broad shoulders! He said he was having trouble getting the shoulder out and something about shoulder dystocia and maybe needing to make the incision bigger- then the baby was out the next second so we avoided all that. The surgeon was great. DH was able to announce the gender and everyone in the room went "Huh!" when the nurse announced the weight.
The thing is I had been so bummed to not have a vaginal birth but after that pain and seeing how big the baby was, I was SO grateful for the csection. So it was a little healing for me to come to peace with my emotions.
The doctor says I heal very well and all looked good inside. He said the lower portion of the uterus was a little thin but that he's seen worse. My uterus had supported an 11 pound baby so I don't doubt it was a little thin! Wow, no wonder I had been feeling so awful these last two weeks!

And since we went in a couple hours early, I got the surgeon I had wanted all along. The one I trusted the most! I praise and thank God for our health, safety and baby boy!!

Our three girls are going to spoil him! And they've picked Chase out for a name already. Daddy likes Gideon or anything off the Roman list in one of the blogs here

and I am filled with too many meds to make up my mind.

we had a girl after 3 boys with our last one and were very surprised! You will love having a son! They are much different from girls (girls are great too
