uh.. raccoons attack people! I'd call animal control!

Call animal control asap. Those things are beyond aggressive. Hopefully its illegal where you are and animal control will do something.

A friend of ours recently had one attack their little girl (6yo) Thankfully their dog intervened...unfortunately it had rabies and the girl had to go through several shots...I don't remember what they did for the dog but they had to keep him in confinement at the vets office for a couple weeks if I remember correctly plus a round of shots for him too. PLEASE call animal control and get that raccoon gone!

How scary. That's awful, thank God for the dog intervening.

My aunt was a wild life rehabilitator and frequently had raccoons for their life spans, baby to old age. However she was licensed with the state and was subject to certain precautions such as mandatory quarantine upon intake of an animal, veterinary care, etc. Raccoons can make great pets when raised from pups BUT they are not a hobbiest animal by any means and this woman does not sound like she should have it. I would call AC and see if they have any local rehab places you could call that could take it and try that first, barring that, yeah, she should not have it one way or the other.

Yesterday we went to the mountains to hang out at the river. The man we parked next to at the camp site came out of his camper and asked if we had dogs with us. I said no. He said "good, 'cause I have a bobcat in her and she don't like dogs". I looked at my 3 year old and the man said "I let her out an she likes kids". I was incredulous and and said, "you have a bob cat in your camper!!!". He didn't let it out while we were there. How redneck can you get! That sounds like a bad situation with the raccoon. I agree to call animal control.

I believe in most states that it is illegal to remove an animal from the wild to raise unless you are a registered wildlife rehab. A wild animal is not a kitten

I would call animal control.
