Disana soaker sizing help

DS was 11lbs 4 oz at his last appointment a week ago. He's just over a month old, so growing fast! How does Disana sizing run? Should I go with a small, or would it be outgrown too fast? I don't plan on felting. TIA

I have a medium that I felted a little and my 20-lb DS still has lots if growing room, even over bulky fitteds. I would think you'd get lots of use out of the small but I'll see what other mamas say. PS, we love our Disana soakers!!!

I'm with Lynn, I just got a M for my 23 lb 13 month old... it is huge, I think you'll get plenty of use out of a small still

Re: Disana soaker sizing help

I have a big baby too and she's still (barely) wearing the smalls at 3 months. We are a fitteds family and she can wear the smalls over trimmer/sized fitteds, but I cant get it over the bulkier OS. We have a couple of mediums and they're huge on her, up to her armpits. But they still do a tremendous job!

Re: Disana soaker sizing help

We went big knowing that it would look funny at first. I did not prefelt k owing that disana wool has a tendency to felt with use. At 4 months we put son in the larges. They did come to his arm pits. However we are still using them 9 months later and will likely continue using them for another year possibly to potty training. We use them as pjs. In the summer he wears just his diaper and disana cover to bed. In the winter he wears socks, pj top, diaper, and disana cover.

Unless you want them to go under clothing Or don't mind buying again soon I would get the medium. Disana wool tends to felt a bit on their own with use.

If you are planning on having them go under regular clothing then I would go with the small covers.

I live our disana for hanging around the house and nights but for under clothing I really do prefer either a Lanacare cover or a wool wrap. The disana has no elastic at the waist so is comfy but the Lanacare is trimmer but has an elastic waist band.

GMD has photos of babies in Disana soakers.
http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/disana.htm
It was helpful to me when I was trying to figure out sizing.

Thanks guys! I might go with a small. I like things to fit pretty fairly snug.

share photos when you do!! I just looked at the GMD thread and it confused me! my medium is huge on my 14 month old 23 pound guy, I was regretting not getting a small!! I don't think a M would ever fit under clothes on one as small as yours!

Re: Disana soaker sizing help

Yeah if you like things snug I'd go with small. The soakers have A LOT of stretch which is really nice. I got an XL because I always buy larger and it is positively gigantic on DD! That's ok because I use it at night over her sumo-wrestler diapers, but still, it's HUGE.
