Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
I'm using AIOs and pockets. I'm doing a review on different types when my LO gets here in a few weeks!

Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
I used orange edge gmd prefolds with proraps with my first and I will do the same this go around. I only use proraps in the earlies size because I don't care much for them - they are just so cheap so I don't care if they get stained. I used gmd prefolds all the way through for my ds and will use them again.

Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
I use kissaluv 0's stuffed with a preemie indian prefold and no cover at home. Away from home I use just the fitted and either a NB prowrap or a NB Bummies Super Snap. I use the same system all the way through every size until they potty train, except when I stop changing them at night. At night I use a combination of pockets stuffed with microfiber and/or hemp and PUL covers stuffed with microfiber and/or hemp, a prefold, and a fleece liner.

Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
I plan on CDing - been grabbing all the deals I can find, but still trying to establish the best price for a cloth diaper.
My mother found a great article which pretty much convinced me - also, since this is my first, may as well stock up on them now, as we would like at least 3 more! Edit: I can not post links yet (still too new) but it can be found on Squawkfox (a personal finance blog), and its the second article from the top called "Price Check: Are cloth diapers worth it?" |

Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
I have:
4 Grovia nb 2 BG xs I don't like flats and covers, mainly because I don't like exposed PUL touching baby and I hate snappis and pins, so I only trifold. With newborn poo, I need an AIO or pocket. I will probably get some lil joeys if I can find them for the right price, they are snatched up so quickly! I like the look of the grovias, just not sure about them not having the cord snap down. They are fairly inexpensive though so I may end up with a whole stash of them. As baby gets bigger I'd like to get BG smalls and use trifolded flats or small gcloth. For my DS I've tried the gamut of things, and have always gone back to BG pockets with med/large gcloth and flats stuffed inside. So to keep it simple, I will probably do the same this time!

Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
I think dh and I have agreed to use sposies at first
I know he is willing to wash diapers because we will have a 2 yr old that probably won't be trained yet but with me having a c-section and being gone 3 days it makes me nervous. And my last baby was over 10 lbs but the baby before that was just over 6 so I have no way to really know how big this one will be. I don't want to buy diapers and have them not fit. I think what I will plan is for at least the first couple of weeks use sposies then once I am feeling up to actually moving I will get some that will fit if the os I have won't.Makes me sad though cause I wanted newborn diapers but we can't really afford it either. And I don't want to do prefolds or flats.

Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
I have no clue what we are going to do. Financially we are struggling as is, so I am hoping that family helps out. It is causing a great deal of stress in the house. Not even sure if I will be able to build a stash. >.< I wanted so bad to CD this time, but it is looking like just building the initial stash is going to be hard enough let alone getting anything else for lo.

Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
I have 2 dozen tiny prefolds and two wool Imse Vimse covers. I'm planning to get some Softbums (probably Echos) with bamboo pods to share between the baby and my toddler. I had pockets before, but they wore out on baby #4. I like prefolds and find them easy to use, but I also think the Softbums are super cute and look nice for diapering on the go and setting up for Daddy use

Re: What will you diaper your newborn in?
We're taking a break from CDing DS1 right now because I couldn't get my CD addiction under control.
Planning on keeping it really simple with DS2 by buying just what I need and then staying far away from FSOT. LOL. I have about 24 of each BG-XS and BG-S AIO's that I got from the last 2nd's sale. Then we will move into Flips with a variety of inserts - primarily Alva bamboo but will also use Flip Organics if I can snag some in the next 2nd or gently used sale. I got 6 or so of the Flip Organics in the last gently used sale for $4 each and they were in perfect condition. If I can score that again, I'll get a full 24 set of organics. I do plan on trimming some of the Alva bamboo down so I don't have to fold them over to work on the smaller rise. I *hate* diaper bulk. That's the plan!
