I sewed through my finger yesterday.

It still hurts like the ****ens, but it was only one puncture, so I got off easily.

I was stretching elastic & sewing a zig-zag down it & got my finger under the needle...it went in right next to the nail bed & went all the way through.

I had a tetnas shot within the last 5 years, so I just washed it & applied pressure until the bleeding stopped.

I cannot imagine doing that any worse or ever again though! OUCH.

My grandma still has a scar (from around 15 years ago) where it sewed from one side of her thumb, across the nail, to the other side of the thumb. Hope it never happens to me - ouch!

ETA: I always get my finger under the presser foot lever and it stings!

It HURTS! Done it. I got my pointer finger right in the middle of the nail. I think it might have been the grossest injury ever. *hugs*

Ouch! I've done it a couple times so now when I get tired I have to tell myself to back away from the sewing machine!

This is one of my fears too. There's an old movie about a deaf couple and in it the mom works in a sweatshop. Her deaf friend sews though her finger. Talk about nightmares!
