Yet, it isn't far-out, phonetically different, or spelled funny. If I said it to a random stranger, they would be able to guess the spelling correctly at least 50 percent of the time (which is better than my son's first name which is now popular but not yet on the top 100 list) and if a random English-native person were to read it, they would pronounce it correctly about 90% of the time. One of my youngest son's names is literally as popular as the name Microsoft, not spelled funny or anything, and yet we have to spell it to 2/3 people for them to get it right. This particular girl name, on the other hand, is a rare gem I think ;-) I mean, honestly, who can Google their first name, if it appears in several baby name books, and get less than 10 responses?
I put names into facebook name search and see what comes up haha Of course, that only covers people who have facebook- so like, 10 and older. But it's fun to see if anyone comes up and what kind of people come up.

Re: Names?

My name is completely unique in that no one in the world has the same name. I kind of wish there were a few more people out there with my name because when you google me, everything Ive ever done ever pops up.

Re: Names?

Ha. I get annoyed when people have annoyingly common names. It's impossible to google or facebook stalk them. How inconsiderate...

Right now my thoughts are:

Boy: Cheshire (non-common boy names are hard to find)

Girl: Alice (same, and still cute!)

Can you tell my theme? I'm glad I am naming this one. But it's still hard.

Btw: I have no other little ones.

Sent from my Inspire. Hope everything makes sense!

I love this name! Great choice

Dh and I are Italian, so an Italian name for us is a must. Our son is Luca, named after DH's grandfather. I love love love the name, but I am a little sad that it really seems to be gaining in popularity and I'm starting to hear it everywhere.

I don't have any girl names yet but for a boy my top name is Nicola... It's just a shame we can't use it because it rhymes a little too perfectly with our last name. Bummer!

Re: Names?

Alice seems like it would be common but it's often overlooked. I've never personally met another Alice in my life unless you count Mary Alice or this French girl that pronounced it completely different. I'm named after my great grandmother it probs used to be more common.

Re: Names?

Boy: Briar David
Girl: Calliope Jane

If it's boy/boy or girl/girl we are screwed. We only have those two names, and we are not good at compromise.
