Question for a mod re interntaional shipping and customs numbers
I know that within the US DC is required on DS. However international one can supply a customs number.
Germany now uses their own customs form not the US one. My only option is signiture delivery. If shipping is 3,45 on 500 grams signiture delivery is another 2,05 euro making my shipping almost double and my cheapest shipping option over 7 dollars. At the end of the day point blank customs numbers do not prove delivery or offer tracking. (not that dc does the latter though commonly believed to be tracking). So in terms of paypal seller protection customs numbers offer nix. Obviously on larger value items its easy enough o build in the cost but on lower value items most times its not worth it to me to sell.So my question is what is required of people who live in countries without dc and wihout customs numbers do we have to do expensive signiture delivery. I realize the risk but see it no different then a customs number and on a 10 dollar transaction willing to trust moms. I would love to have it as an optional add on but not bumping up my ppd prices. Thoughs.

Re: Question for a mod re interntaional shipping and customs numbers
If all a customs number does isprove shipping what alternatives could also prove shipping would a postal reciept scan suffice.

Re: Question for a mod re interntaional shipping and customs numbers
I'm not a mod but could you use a 3rd party insurance like u-pic? I'm not sure if you can use them on your end going to the US but I know you can US to International. The price is pretty reasonable too, like a couple bucks for less than $100. Just a thought

As far as I know only customs is required. Hopefully a mod can clear this up for you. Did you check the FAQ? It may be in there or in a sticky around here.
